How We Help

We provide services to residents of Monroe County, Wisconsin who are over 60 years old, disabled, or suffer from a chronic illness.  We do not discriminate against someone based on their race, gender, religion, income, sexual orientation, marital status, or political beliefs.

 Everyone who wants to receive services has to fill out an application.  It is available either through this website, email, or  it can be mailed (we include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to return it).    After we receive your application someone from Faith in Action will call you, your references, and perform the necessary background checks.  The whole process usually takes less than a week. 

No, we never charge money for any of our services.  The only cost would be for the groceries you have delivered.  Our volunteers help others out of the kindness of their hearts and never accept any money.  Drivers who provide rides for doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and errands are reimbursed for their mileage by Faith in Action.  If you would like to contribute, donations can be mailed to the office.

Everyone who receives any service and all volunteers who provide a service undergo a thorough reference screening and background check.  Volunteers who provide medical transportation or in-home services will also have a Faith in Action ID card identifying themselves.

Before any volunteer comes to your home someone from the Faith in Action office will call you with the day, time, and name of the person arriving.  A volunteer will never arrive at your home without prior arrangements.  Volunteers who provide transportation will have also had their driving record checked and provided a transportation volunteer ID indicating they have successfully completed this step.
